The next day was the plan of going to Miraflores so we did around half to 2 PM. That morning we just had to rest because of the exhausting week of internship and waking up at 7 every day. Inside the exhibition there is a floor dedicated to the history one floor above that is the small animals exhibition. Robin and I went to the upper deck to see 2 different ships go through the 2 seperate locks. This was impressive to see from closeby, how these panamax ships passed through. Panamax ships are the biggest size of ships the locks in Panama can handle. We then set down at a cafe in the museum and ordered drinks. I ordered a lemonade, what you would expect is simple lemonade syrup mixed with water but in this cafe you would get home made strawberry ananas lemonade. I did not know this would cost you 6 freaking dollars, for 6 dollars you expect a big mac menu not a 300ml lemonade. But whatever then we called Anna and got back to the house. In the evening we went out to dinner with Joost and his sons, Nick and Evert. We went to this Italian place in the old train station of the Panamanian crossland railway. I had a fairly cheap nice steak overthere, so I recommend you will go there once you go to Panama. The whole evening we talked about Panama but also about gaming and other of our interests.
So sunday arrived, this was the day we went on a big hike. We started walking down this muddy road covered with stones everywhere. The path got smaller and smaller and eventually you walked in a line of 4 people. Robin, Walter, Sophia and I, we had really nice weather, a small breeze and not too sunny. It took one and a half hours of hicking to get to the target, a small waterfall. Walter said it was busier than normal because a lot of locals were also swimming there. But we still got in the water for a nice long period. I really enjoyed the water and we also took nice pictures over there and along the trip. One of the things I am still sad about is that we still have not seen that much animals here in Panama like snakes and monkeys. The way back was way tougher though because of a mixture of rain and tiredness. We got back and Walter let us choose what to eat for lunch so we chose to get shoarma. That was a really good decision because I really enjoyed the shoarma rolled pizza I got.
These past few days were really enjoyable and the different things we do keeps the interests in Panama alive.
